Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Thank you for advocating for or forests, wildlife and parks! I love spending time in parks to decompress and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The best part of my visits are the various species of trees, plants and wildlife I see in the area. Bonus if I see something more rare like a bobcat or panther.

8/25 - It was amazing to experience nature this morning. The morning was cool, birds were chirping, squirrels were out pick up acorns and the wind was slightly blowing. Outdoor life can be so peaceful and relaxing. Our forests are so important to our community and we appreciate the hard work from our Forest personnel each and everyday.
