Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

I am very appreciative of everything that you do for our national forests! This is something that most people don't even think about but it effects their quality of life every single day. May your day be filled with wonder and joy. Please know that there are people out there -- like me -- who are trying to do the right thing and not cause forest fires. We will do better, don't give up on us.

Thank you for your commitment and selfless service to protect our national forests. They are treasures that we have in the US. I live in NYC so my daily interaction is with tall buildings and limited amount of trees. When I enter a national park, my appreciation for it's beauty and power never goes unnoticed. Your work is needed and thank you!

I have family in the fire fighting community, most at the local volunteer level, and have seen the impact that they have on the community and can only imagine the magnitude of what is faced when facing a wild fire that is threatening to impact entire communities. Thank you for what you do!

A single tree planted on a National Forest can store a half ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate climate change.

I know what you do it difficult at times, but clearly rewarding as well.

As a big outdoor-lover, I appreciate all of your hard work to protect the forest as well as homes and communities from wildfires. Thank you!
