Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

I get out every morning with my dog and enjoy the spaces that too many times are taken for granted, when it is because of people like you that we have chosen to improve our outdoor spaces for all of us to enjoy!

7 out of 10 Americans live within a 2-hour drive of a National Forest.

Years ago firefighters saved the home of my great uncle outside of Yosemite, without your swift intervention he would've lost decades of memories in the blink of an eye. I want to thank you for not just that, but for keeping all our national forests safe and thriving.

Dear U.S. Forest Service, I want to thank you for keeping our forests safe and doing such a selfless job, day after day. While of course we could not live without forests, they also provide great joy to me and my family. From hiking to camping, we enjoy them on a regular basis, and genuinely appreciate everything you do.
