Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Dear U.S. Forest Service, I want to thank you for keeping our forests safe and doing such a selfless job, day after day. While of course we could not live without forests, they also provide great joy to me and my family. From hiking to camping, we enjoy them on a regular basis, and genuinely appreciate everything you do.

Sincerely, Joe

Trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and remove harmful pollutants from the air, acting as a natural air filter.

Replenishing the force is a very important job. We appreciate all that you are doing.

Hi!

I have only been on a few hikes, but nothing beats the beautiful scenery of our national forests! In New Jersey I tackled the Giant Stairs in Palisades park and man was that such a fun experience. I can only imagine how much ground you have to cover when it comes to protecting the national forests so again thank you thank you! Stay safe!
