Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

I am so thankful for the tireless efforts of the Forest Service to protect, maintain, and improve all our national forests. As a Hoosier, though, I am extremely grateful for those that staff the Hoosier National Forest and appreciate so many of the wonderful things the national forest does for not only Hoosiers but for anyone visiting the forest.

Growing up, my uncle was a part of the NFF. He was very proud of what he did to help conserve our National Forests and wildlife. He passed away a few years ago and I still think about all the great work he did. What you do is very much appreciated and I wanted to take time to thank you!

One of my favorite activities is hiking in the North Georgia mountains. Thank you and your peers in the National Forest Service for making that possible.

Today, longleaf pine habitat exists on less than 5 percent of its historic range in the U.S. South. Planting longleaf pine on National Forests supports the expansion of this critical native species.

You are amazing, courageous, and appreciated for all the time and energy you give to protect our national forests. On behalf of all living beings who appreciate this Earth, I want to share all the gratitude from my heart. Big love to you!
