Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

I am yet to visit a National forest although i have enjoyed the parks in Georgia. I have become more appreciative of what fire fighters do to save National Parks. Thank you for your service and sacrifices you make to help protect our National Forests. Thanks from Verizon Employee in Georgia.

Hello! I live in NJ; The Garden State! I love hiking. My favorite park is Palisades Interstate Park between NY and NJ right by the Hudson river. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to firemen and women of the forest service. Your bravery is at another level. Thank for your service. You inspire me every day.

Thank you so much for everything you do to ensure we have the beautiful national forest to enjoy. All your hard work is not unnoticed. When I take walks or are driving through the forestry, I enjoy all the beauty they provide. As it saddens me to see what a fire does, the beauty of the trees that survive with your help brings a smile to my face.

National Forests provide habitat for more than 3,000 animals, including more than 400 federally listed threatened and endangered species.

To the bravest, Please know that your hard work and sacrifice do not go unnoticed. Stay safe out there, and may the wind always be at your back (but never too strong, because, well, fires). With deepest appreciation.

My house is in the middle of a national forest in the South of France. Every summer, I see canadairs pumping water in the lake facing my house. One day, the fire might come close to me. That's why I am so appreciative of your bravery. I send you a BIG THANK YOU for all you do and for protecting us. Frédérique
