Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

With every burn you rise to the challenge with grit, passion, and a determination that is nothing short of heroic. And let’s be honest—you’re probably the only ones who can walk through flames and still have better hair than the rest of us after a casual hike! Thank you for your service.

Hi, I love going to national parks to see the stunning mountains and Lakes view. I know without your selfless efforts and sacrifice of your time, there will be less and less woods out there, and we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the parks. So thank you so much from my heart for your hard work and sacrifice.

Our forests have a unique kind of resilience, but there’s also a fragility woven into that strength. The mistakes we make—through carelessness or ignorance—leave lasting impacts on the wilderness we love. Yet, time and again, you put your lives on the line to protect not just the land but the essence of what makes our world so special. Thank you.
