Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Hello, I love being outside and enjoying the sounds and peacefulness when on a walk in our local forest trails in Swansea. We have a great little trail behind our town hall that runs a little over 2 miles. It's short but also good for a quick walk to rejuvenate your battery and appreciation for the outdoors. A friend of nature

National Forests are the largest single source of fresh water in the US, providing drinking water to millions, including those in large cities.

Thank you so much for all that you do in protecting our forests. I love to hike and being outside in the forest makes me happy. There is nothing better than being out in nature. My brother-in law is a wildland firefighter and has been called out west to fight fires and protect not only the forest, but also peoples homes and businesses.
