Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

The longleaf pine ecosystem is one of the most biologically diverse in North America, with an understory that can hold up to 40 plant species per square yard.

Dearest Forest Personnel, Thank you for your dedication in maintaining our forests. While I have never been to a National Forest, I hope to go some day and will be able to thanks to your hard work. Keep on truck'n!

Your dedication ensures that there are individuals in this world who are actively planning for the well-being of all Americans. It is advisable to allocate adequate time to analyze the ways in which climate change can be mitigated and to take measures to devise an effective strategy. Some people choose to give up, but you continue to beat the odds.

Today, longleaf pine habitat exists on less than 5 percent of its historic range in the U.S. South. Planting longleaf pine on National Forests supports the expansion of this critical native species.

Thank you for all that you do, the world needs more people like you.
