Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

We want to hear from you. Please take one minute to answer a few questions in our brief survey.

We invite you to share these messages of thanks from Verizon employees with your fellow wildland firefighters or any associations, clubs, groups, or teams who you believe would appreciate seeing them.

It is so important to stop and smell the roses and take in the view. The rustling creek, breeze blowing my hair, cerulean butterfly, taste of crisp, cool air and countless other images flooded my mind as I strolled down the trail in my neighborhood. It is comforting to know that the Forest Foundation will always provide us with the space we need.

I recently went to the Arapaho National Forest for a quick hike up to St. Mary's Glacier. Whoa! What a hike, short and sweet. But it took my breath away! Literally. I hope every dollar for that parking is well received. Totally worth the amenities and upkeep! I hope more find passion and love for keeping these forests and parks beautiful!

I so admire the cleanliness of our national parks. I visit as many as I can during my personal time, mainly around the Tonoto, Prescott, and Coconino areas. It's like a recharging station for me and knowing that there are so many people who look after, love, and care for these wonderful areas warms my heart! Thank you!

A single tree planted on a National Forest can store a half ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate climate change.

Thank you for risking your safety for the betterment of our Nation. You are a true inspiration. Where most people take these things for granted, and overlook, I wanted to extend my sincerest thanks to you guys and girls. Keep being brave and helping our environment!

In New Mexico it always feels like our communities and land are in jeopardy. You hear consistently about all the efforts, overtime, danger, and personal time sacrifice made by our National Forest Service. Thank you for the danger you put yourself in and the time that you give to protecting our environment, animals, and people.
