Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

As someone who spends a lot of time hiking and soaking in the beauty of our forests, I want to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart & boots for the incredible work you do. Life just wouldn’t be the same if we were confined to city limits, unable to explore the vast wilderness that you protect with such courage and dedication.

Thank you for all that you do to keep our national parks and forests protected. I am a lifelong fan of our national parks – I learned to walk at Yellowstone – and have recently visited the Grand Canyon and the Smoky Mountains (close to home). I so appreciate all the work that goes into protecting our greatest natural resources. Stay safe!

Big thanks to the US Forest Service squad! You're out there battling wildfires, managing forests, and somehow keeping squirrels from taking over. Meanwhile, I'm over here struggling to keep a houseplant alive. Keep doing the important stuff, so I can keep enjoying the view. Thank you for everything you do day in and day out.

A single tree planted on a National Forest can store a half ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate climate change.

Thank you very much for your service and dedication! As a lover of our National Parks and beautiful outdoors, I greatly appreciate what you do. You are true heroes. God bless all of you!

Thank you for doing what you do to protect the beauty of our national parks and to protect the people who live close by. Growing up in Colorado I was lucky enough to be surrounded by national parks and we made many a road trip to neighboring Utah, Wyoming and Arizona. I appreciate your hard work and decision to put yourself in harms way.

Hi -I would like to thank all the men and women that protect our national forests above and beyond your own personal lives.

I wish I could access the forests more often but knowing you respond to emergencies is comforting so that I can take advantage of them when free to do so.

Please keep up the great work and know your efforts are appreciated

Hi, I am a father of 2 young girls. My wife and I love to take them all over the US to hike through and explore the various state parks and experience all that nature has to offer. All of that would not be possible without the efforts of all the US Forest Service personnel to preserve the environment. Thank you all for everything you do every day!

The land area of Japan is 378,000 square kilometers (= 37.8 million hectares), so about two-thirds of the land is forest. Therefore, it is important to preserve the forests, but also cuts down old trees and plants new ones. Many volunteers are being recruited.
