Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Whether your managing, planting, or saving our forests, thank-you! Really great stuff for our environment, not just trees, but the impacts to the soil, water, fishing, and air. Again, thank-you for all you do, especially during those hard days when the mosquitos never quit, the heat is unbearable, or the smoke and exhaustion is setting in.

A single tree planted on a National Forest can store a half ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate climate change.

I would love to volunteer to shadow one of you for a day! I bet it is hard work but you make such a real impact on the world. Thank you for everything that you do!
