Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Thank you for protecting our beautiful national forests, bestowed to us from God Almighty. "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." - Romans 1:20

Thank you so much for your service! I'm assuming you get a lot of these letters, so I thought I'd try something a little different... I hope it brightens your day.... -What did the tree do when the bank closed? It started its own branch! -Why did the pine tree get in trouble? It was being knotty! -Why do trees hate tests? They often get stumped!

To the amazing US Forest Service Team - I cannot believe that 33% of the US depends on our forests for drinking water! We take the magnitude and availability of this resource for granted. So grateful for all you do to support this endeavor. Blessings to all!

The longleaf pine ecosystem is one of the most biologically diverse in North America, with an understory that can hold up to 40 plant species per square yard.

Thank you! Our country is indebted to you. Grateful for your knowledge and devotion to our nations forests. Seems that we take them (our forests) for granted but understand that there is maintenance and nurturing involved to keep them flourishing. You are an inspiration and I am grateful for your expertise and commitment!

To be honest, I was somewhat ignorant regarding all of the great work the National Forest Service does. But, after attending a webinar hosted by the National Forest Foundation, I've now been enlightened. And, would like to thank you for all that you do!

Thank you for your dedication to our national forests. In NJ, we have recently seen so much devastation from invasive insects. And I've seen it in CO and other states. Your work to help restore health to the forests is truly appreciated by most everyone - including of course, wildlife! Thank you for your passion and commitment!

I just learned about how trees communicate through their trunks and care for each other. Its amazing what we learn as time advances, shedding light on the intricacies of our world. Your efforts are in support of creatures more empathetic than we previously imagined. Thank you for caring for them and being a shining light of humanity.

Today, longleaf pine habitat exists on less than 5 percent of its historic range in the U.S. South. Planting longleaf pine on National Forests supports the expansion of this critical native species.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment and dedication to our national forests and natural ecosystems. This is not easy work, but know that you are respected, appreciated and valued.
