Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

My fondest childhood memories are spent in the woods of the Stones River National Battlefield in Tennessee. Hiking the trails, cutting thru the woods, discovering new plants, animal tracks, old homesteads, identifying trees, and finding edible food in the wild. Thank you for all you do, preserving this treasure for future generations.

The beauty and quality of our National Forests could not be maintained without the awareness of the forest and conservation workers. The attention to detail needed along with the physical stamina to plant, prune and care for our trees deserves recognition. Thank you to all of the Forest staff that bring these important qualities to work each day!

Trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and remove harmful pollutants from the air, acting as a natural air filter.

Thanks to all of the U.S. Forest Service personnel for maintaining the beauty of the national forests. Nothing better than seeing all healthy animals and trees. Verizon appreciates you!

Thank you U.S. Forest Service personnel for all you do for our forests. It is so beneficial, for example it is an incredible food source, it's like a grocery store for all kinds of animals. From small to big, caterpillars to bears, eating leaves to others storing their food for hibernation.

Dear forest friend, All you do for the forest trees and replanting. Thank you to the people who know when and where to plant new trees. America needs all the trees to take in carbon dioxide and to release oxygen. Thank you for all you do.
