Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

The longleaf pine ecosystem is one of the most biologically diverse in North America, with an understory that can hold up to 40 plant species per square yard.

Today, longleaf pine habitat exists on less than 5 percent of its historic range in the U.S. South. Planting longleaf pine on National Forests supports the expansion of this critical native species.

Thank you for your service. You are appreciated. Our forests and the protection it provides means a lot to those that understand its importance. I just want to say "thank you" for your tireless efforts and your commitment towards awareness and our planet.

Hi,

One time I hiked to the very top of Poo-Poo Point; yes that is a real place, look it up. When I got to the top, I looked in every direction and saw miles and miles of forest that was protected by you and your peers.

Thank you for that day, and for the many people that have likely had a similar experience as mine.

Hello There!

Why do trees make the worst frenemies? Because they are the best at throwing shade!

In all seriousness though, thank you for all that you do. We literally couldn't do it without you.

Take care! --B--
