NFF hero image

Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

One day i would like to visit and explore the Sierra National Forest, and the Yosemite national park. Recently learned there is a program featuring 30 days of internship, including camp hosting, visitor information, and patrols. Also, appreciate having Ranger-Led program in order to experience the park as an outdoor classroom.

I appreciate all that you do to protect my region from wild fires and for preserving our national forests and grasslands. There is nothing more peaceful that being out in nature in the Forest. That peace would not exist without all of your efforts and I truly appreciate that!

Growing up in WV, 15 minutes from the New River Gorge, being outside was my peace. Hiking through the trails, hearing the river just over the bend, feeling the mountain breeze, and cresting the ridge and seeing the expansive beauty was something I will never take for granted. And because of the NFS, it will be here for years to come.

I live in a city and don't see enough trees. Thank you for your commitment to such an important piece in the world. Sometimes I wonder if there's another planet in another universe that is ONLY trees...or maybe even Trees that can talk?! Thank you for caring for our forests, because sadly they cannot speak for themselves.

Thank you for all of the hard work that you do. As a huge fan of the Lorax, I commend you not just for speaking for the trees, but for doing something about it. The few times I get to fly I always am so stunned by how green our country is, but I feel like that would not be the case without the efforts of the NFF. Thank you!
