Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Tress are an almost surreal expression of water, soil, air and sunlight, combined with infinite mixtures of microbial cultures and wildlife communities. I am thankful to everyone in The National Forest Foundation because without you, we would not be able to enjoy the birds preening, singing, or rubbing their beaks on breaches outside my window.

A single tree planted on a National Forest can store a half ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate climate change.

Thank you for your bravery!

Thank you so much for helping create habitats for wildlife. "Progress" doesn't always mean a new housing community. It can also mean saving an animal species and having people learn about our planet. Thank you!

By planting the right species in the right places, reforestation improves forest health and helps make our forests more resilient to future challenges like climate change and wildfire.

Thank you so much for creating a special place to go, feel safe, and enjoy nature. Sometimes you need to get out of the city and remember that life is more than just work!
