Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Trees hold and purify water and stabilize soils, helping creeks and rivers run clear for the thousands of communities who depend on National Forests for clean water.

Thank you so much for the many hours of dedication and service that you provide taking care of planting and replenishing the multitude of trees each year. Without trees, like honey bees, we as humans are nothing in the scheme of the almighty's grand nature!

Did you know...a forest must be at least 1.24 acres. Trees in a forest must be at least 16 feet tall, and the tree canopy must cover at least 10 percent of the land? WOW! I would never have guessed that. I want to thank all the men and women of the NFF for everything you do to keep the landscapes across the US beautiful. THANK YOU!

Did you know...The US has 154 national forests, covering 188,336,179 acres (762,169 km2; 294,275 sq mi). That's a lot of land. requiring a lot of tender loving care. Without forests, what would happen to nature? The older I get the more I love it - nature. Without you (The NFF) there would be none. THANKS A MILLION!

Dear US Forest Service officer, I know we can't keep our forests safe without your effort and it is highly important to keep the forests. Whenever I see a wildfire and storm on the news, I feel it is so dangerous to deal with those disasters and you are really devoted. I always thank you for your effort to save the forests. Best Regards,

Thank you for all you do! Its sad to see how much nature is being torn down around us in order to build homes and businesses. Knowing we have you to serve and protect our forests, means so much. It means some of our nature can be protected and continue to flourish for generations to come. Nature is so important for the environment.
