Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

I live in southern california just south of the Los Angeles national forest, so visit local hiking trails in the area on most weekends. For me, hiking, biking and being in nature / forest is a time to reflect and think about everything going on. It is a meditative period will also being a chance to appreciate nature and stay physically fit.

Thanks so much to the U.S. Forest Service Personnel for reforestation efforts, especially after so many natural disasters in recent years. Replanting trees is so deseperately needed as our forests slowly dwindle from these disasters as well as the encroachment of building expansion. We love every bit of what you all do!
