Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

I was born and raised in PA and I'm now living in Idaho the last 5 years, I feel closer to the wild fires hitting along the west coast. Right now in Idaho (July), we're hitting record highs (above 100 degress F) for days now and had many local brush fires here. It's really scarey. I appreciate your dedciation to our forests and our safety! Karen

National Forests provide habitat for more than 3,000 animals, including more than 400 federally listed threatened and endangered species.

I personally want to thank the NFF for protecting our forests. I live in the foothills of the Appalachians, and I frequent the national forest and parks frequently. A big thank you to those who keep our forests safe, and who work tirelessly to make sure our forests are safe for a lifetime!

Thank you for restoring our National Forests and Grasslands each as they are impacted by us humans and nature itself. This project of yours ensures our ecosystem still functions properly with treating these economical areas and species. The treatment of those areas and species allows the prevent of extinction to occur so rapidly in our ecosystems.
