Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

I know you are not a Lorax, but sometimes I like to imagine people are like my favorite Dr. Suess characters - especially when they embody the best traits.

Thank you for being like the Lorax and speaking for the trees with your time and dedication.

Hope you're having a good summer and the sunsets and sunrises are epic.

Thank you for caring for trees. They're so important and I can't grow them in my little apartment. Forests are magical places, and without your attention I'd be worried all of the time.

Hope you're having a good summer and the sunsets and sunrises are epic.

Dear NFF, Until recently, I did not know 1/3rd of our nation's drinking water comes form National Forests. Thank you for your work on maintaining and protecting this precocious resource. I definitely do everything I can to not waste water, especially given recent drought situations.

Thank you for all you do in helping to care for and protect our National forests! I recently learned of your reforestation efforts as well as protecting against invasive species of weeds and plants. This is great work for our planet and to help sustain environments for animals and plants as well. Thank you!

Dear NFF, As someone who lives and works in Northern Virginia, I greatly appreciate your efforts and programs to keep our nation's forests thriving. The housing demand is high in our area and too many trees are cut down to make way for building. I see water drainage issues and ground water dilemmas that have yet to be fully addressed.

Dear NFF, Thank you for all you do in protecting and helping to maintain our nation's forests. In today's news there are too many high traffic areas that are leveling out areas to make way for industrial parks and housing. I appreciate you keeping our nation beautiful.

Trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and remove harmful pollutants from the air, acting as a natural air filter.

Dear Forest Personnel, My 4 kids and I recently spent several hours hiking and playing in the falls in Pisgah National Forest. The trails and common areas were well maintained. The water was cool and clear. We found tons of pools to play in. It was an enriching experience. Thank you for your service. S. Foster

U.S. Forest Service Team,

Because you support the maintenance of green space, the inhabitants and visitors can find respite. I treasure the scent of the trees, flowers and moist air. I marvel at small butterflies dancing in wisps of grass. As I traverse up and down hills, I'm reminded to keep going and just... breathe. From my heart, thank you!

Thank you so much for your dedication and taking care of the forest. My day starts with a short walk through the conservative area and I love it. Fresh breeze, birds chirping, sun rising and the sun rays feels like heaven to me. Kudos to you and your team. Not only human beings, every living being owes you a BIG THANKYOU

Thank you for all you do to keep our National Forests thriving for all of the biodiversity, as well as people, to enjoy and respect for generations to come. While what you did was always crucial, the threat of wildfires, drought, and habitat loss makes what you do even that much more heroic and important.
