Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

We want to hear from you. Please take one minute to answer a few questions in our brief survey.

We invite you to share these messages of thanks from Verizon employees with your fellow wildland firefighters or any associations, clubs, groups, or teams who you believe would appreciate seeing them.

Nearly my entire childhood was spent outdoors in nature doing healthy activities that I'm imparting on my own children. In this digital age when so many of our youth are stuck on screens, I'm truly grateful for all the parks across our country and the Forest Service personnel who make it possible for everyone to get outside and enjoy nature.

National Forests are the largest single source of fresh water in the US, providing drinking water to millions, including those in large cities.

We have had unusually cool weather for mid-August in Pennsylvania so it was a good opportunity to take some time during my hour walk and appreciate the nice weather, enjoy an audio book and time away from work.

Once again, I count hardly express my feelings for the splendors of our country every time I take a walk. Having the back drop of our California mountains. I have to take this time to express my gratitude and thanks for your servers in preserving them. Thank you very much

There is a mountain bike/hiking trail near my apartment. The trees and grass have almost overgrown the trail, but it is still nice to bike around in it. The forest is quite large, offering different features for both bikers and hikers. There are also quite a few wildlife animals in the forest, rabbits, squirrels, and deer are commonly seen.
