Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

As a kid I heard pre-Columbus, a squirrel could go from the Atlantic to the Mississippi without having to touch the ground. We can't witness the age of exploration but the natural beauty of the US always makes me feel immense pride and longing heartache at the same time. I'm very glad that we have you all to thank for helping to preserve that.

Thank you for the hard work you do to maintain such a precious resource in this country. It wasn't until today that I learned about some of the efforts that go into maintaining our national forests. Specifically the efforts around restoration, and planting up to 10k trees a day in areas impacted by fires. So Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Hi! Thank you so much for your constant dedication to preserving our National Forests.

My favorite Forest is up in Red River, NM at Goose Lake. I caught my first trout in the 80s there. Great memories!

My other favorite of course the Sequoia National Forest and the Redwoods too.

Be safe!

Thank you for planting trees! Some of my favorites: Olympic, Mt Hood, Tahoe and Sierra, and several others crossing the US by car many times. I planted a ton myself working for USFWS in Rio Grande Valley TX through AmeriCorps. Anyways what you do is huge and greatly appreciated ... Thanks for keeping our national forests robust and beautiful! JG

Hi US Forest Team! I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all that you do to preserve our history and natural habitats! We often take this for granted when we see beautiful picturesque scenery. The ability to see this is because of you! Thank you!

I'm so grateful for your hard work in reforestation. Thinking about the loss of trees from various travesties such as forest fires, and deforestation for construction and development makes me sad. People like you who work hard to replenish our beautiful trees are heroes in my eyes. Thank you so much for your care of our beautiful forests.

The National Forest Foundation partners with the U.S. Forest Service to plant native species for habitat restoration and in areas impacted by wildfire, insects and disease outbreaks and other natural disturbances.

Dear US Forest Service Team,

Immense thanks for all the effort you put into reforestation including getting up early, standing on unlevel hillsides with trees on your back and all the digging you do to plant 10,000 trees a day. The research that went into finding trees with fire resilient bark is remarkable. Your dedication is truly appreciated!
