Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

I want to thank you for all you do. The work you do is so important and I appreciate it. I love visiting national parks. I just did a road trip through Utah visiting Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Arches, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was all amazing. It’s all because of the work you do that I (we) can enjoy these new places!

Today, longleaf pine habitat exists on less than 5 percent of its historic range in the U.S. South. Planting longleaf pine on National Forests supports the expansion of this critical native species.

Thank you so much for all your efforts in keeping our national forest safe. Your dedication, bravery, and sacrifice are truly appreciated.

Hello,

Thank you for your part in keeping our national forests healthy! I learned today that a third of our drinking water comes from those forests so I'm especially glad that you are looking out for them and replanting in the areas that have been devastated by disease or wildfires. We all owe you for protecting those areas. Thank you!

On my walk today I was able to take the time to listen to the birds chirp, dogs barking, and watch squirrels run up the trees. This walk reminds me the importance of being one with nature. Much gratitude for those who help preserve our forest and nature.
