Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

By planting the right species in the right places, reforestation improves forest health and helps make our forests more resilient to future challenges like climate change and wildfire.

Thank you so much for everything that you do. My family visits many national forests every year and volunteer when we can. The visits refresh our minds and allow us to disconnect from our daily lives and remove ourselves from screentime. Without the dedication from people like you, we would not have this opportunity. Thank you again.

Thank you for the silence that isn’t really silent, but instead filled with the rustle of leaves, the call of birds, and the whisper of the wind. It is here that I can quiet my thoughts and reconnect with myself.

Thanks!

Every city or town has its own unique ecosystem, often including a mix of native and urban wildlife. In many places, squirrels, birds like sparrows and pigeons. Plant life, such as native trees, shrubs, and flowers, also provide shelter and food for these animals.

Thanks!

Spending time in nature offers mental clarity, relaxation, and a sense of peace. It helps me disconnect from the constant rush of modern life, allowing me to reflect, recharge, and reconnect with the natural world. Nature walks, hiking, or simply sitting among trees can have calming effects, reducing stress and promoting well-being.

Thanks!

Forested areas near towns and cities serve as vital green lungs, absorbing carbon dioxide and other pollutants while releasing oxygen. By filtering out particulate matter and improving air quality, forests help to combat pollution, making the air healthier for everyone.

Thanks!
