Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Adding trees in Staten Island helps to preserve its historic value and overall nature as the greenest borough in NYC. Add to nature’s plan to protect flooding, combat climate change and other problems leading to community degradation.

We must preserve and enjoy our national forests. It is with great gratitude that I joined my team to walk and talk and get away from an electronic device to enjoy a nature path alongside lush green plants and beautiful trees. It is our responsibility to impart the importance of preserving and cultivating nature to our younger generations.

Thank you for all of your hardwork in forest conservation. Up in New Jersey it's now well into autumn, so I get to see the leaves change color as I commute to work. It reminds me of how important it is to preserve our environment while continuing development. But a forest is much more than to just look at. Thank you again.

A single tree planted on a National Forest can store a half ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate climate change.

Thank you for protecting and preserving our forests. The work you do goes beyond trees but you sustain life for us all including wildlife. The world is greener and cleaner because of YOU!
