Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

The National Forest Foundation partners with the U.S. Forest Service to plant native species for habitat restoration and in areas impacted by wildfire, insects and disease outbreaks and other natural disturbances.

In 2023, I am so glad to know there are people who still care about our environment. Everyday I ride by places and remember the trees that use to be there. Without them, we also loose wild life that is attracted to them. Keep pushing on to make this world a better place.

This spring I was fortunate to make my first high alpine trip in Colorado to the Holy Cross Wilderness and the White River National Forest. The beauty of the area was unbelievable. The trip is a highlight of my year, no doubt. Thanks for the work you do to make these trips possible and so enjoyable.
