Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Dear U.S. Forrest Service personnel, I wanted to take this time to express my gratitude for your bravery and quick response whenever there is a fire to fight. I was in the Placer County California when fires hit there burning hundreds of acres. Thank you for keeping us safe!

What a blessing it is to have the national and state lands that we do. Getting out in the woods is an amazing experience. I have visited the Redwoods in California and the Grand Canyon. What treasures! I truly appreciate all that you do to combat climate change. I am sure I have no idea what all it takes, but I do thank you. Keep up the great work.

A single tree planted on a National Forest can store a half ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate climate change.

THANK YOU FOR IMPROVING AND RECOGNIZING THAT THE WORLD HAS BEEN DEPRIVED OF NATURAL RESOURCES. ANY EFFORT TO RESTORE IS APPRECIATED AND I WILL MAKE A CONSCIENTIOUS DECISION TO ASSIST IN IMPROVING THE WORLD
