Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

We want to hear from you. Please take one minute to answer a few questions in our brief survey.

We invite you to share these messages of thanks from Verizon employees with your fellow wildland firefighters or any associations, clubs, groups, or teams who you believe would appreciate seeing them.

National Forests are the largest single source of fresh water in the US, providing drinking water to millions, including those in large cities.

My time out on the water this weekend is part of what prompted me to come here to express my gratitude for all the work that the U.S. Forest Service does on a daily basis. The beauty of our forests and rivers within them are beautiful. The work done by the Forest Service allows me to enjoy it safely and that encourges me to go more often!

To the ones who work for our Forests to save and maintain all its natural beauty and diverse wildlife, I wanted to give my sincerest appreciation and acknowledgement of all you do. My sons favorite animal is the Red fox. Without you and your work, my son would've never found the animal he loves most. 1 small example of the lives you touch.

The sky today is bright blue and there is a light breeze. The woods are quiet other than birds. I heard cardinals, crows, and blue jays, and a blue grosbeak. Also heard a few woodpeckers drilling for bugs. I really appreciate the serenity of the woods and I am grateful for the work folks like you do to keep the forests healthy. Thank you!

Thank you , thank you, thank you! Protecting our forest isn't a career that many people think of. I believe that's because it's a passion, and not just a career. Thank you so much for caring and supporting our Forest. This ensures it will be around for generations to come.
