Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Thank you for your commitment to preserving our nation's forests.

“It is of course required of a man that he should benefit his fellow-men — many if he can; if not, a few; if not a few, those who are nearest; if not these, himself. For when he renders himself useful to others, he engages in public affairs.” — Seneca, On Leisure 3.5

Thank you for protecting our forests. I have fond memories from when I was a child, taking road trips and visiting various national parks and forests. I am now a father with 3 small children and I hope to create memories with them.

Thank you so much!

A single tree planted on a National Forest can store a half ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate climate change.
