Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Thanks for all your daily hard work working with the US Forest Service. Protecting natural places for all of us and those in the future is imporant. I spend much of my free time either hiking or mountian biking. Most of my time in PA state or local parks. Hope to get out to see more of our national treasues in the future.

Hello, thank you so much for taking such great care of our forests! While living in NYC, I get to visit Central Park everyday and without it, the city would be drastically different. I especially love it this time of year when the trees and flowers start to bloom. Every day feels different and I feel so happy each day I get to spend time there.

Today, longleaf pine habitat exists on less than 5 percent of its historic range in the U.S. South. Planting longleaf pine on National Forests supports the expansion of this critical native species.

Thank you for what you do every day to keep our forests beautiful! Your dedication, hard work and commitment to preserving our forests is very much appreciated. Forests bring so much joy to our lives and are wonderful places to explore and feel at peace. Please know that all of your efforts are valued today and for future generations to enjoy!
