Thank you
U.S. Forest Service

As part of its responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, Verizon partnered with the National Forest Foundation to thank individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to protecting America’s National Forests—the U.S. Forest Service personnel.

As the effects of climate change exacerbate wildfires and the impacts of COVID-19 spur an unprecedented increase in visitations, Forest Service staff continue to selflessly work and often put their lives in danger to ensure these public lands thrive now and for many generations to come.

In addition to sharing messages of support, encouragement, and thanks from Verizon’s employees, Verizon’s generous grant will plant 100,000 trees on National Forest lands. These native trees will help provide fresh air, clean water, and remove carbon from the environment.

Today, longleaf pine habitat exists on less than 5 percent of its historic range in the U.S. South. Planting longleaf pine on National Forests supports the expansion of this critical native species.

Your work and your efforts do not go unnoticed! Thank you for protecting the beauty in our amazing country's forests. Maintaining ecosystems for our animal friends is truly such an important focus for all generations to come!

Thank you to all the workers in the NFF office. Every email sent, training guide written, call answered, trash can emptied, picture taken, and presentation distributed makes a difference. Without the support functions in the office the wheels of the organization would not move. Your work helps keep our forests and grasslands healthy.
